Which is Nuder?
Rob Dickinson’s MySpace page, apropos of not much, has posted a brand-new studio recording of the minor Catherine Wheel hit “The Nude.” In keeping with Rob’s new image, this version is about as lullabyish as a rock song about lust can get.
Interestingly, the original video from 1993 isn’t much better – it’s shot to the “Scott Litt remix,” which, like Rob’s remake, is missing the tremolo hook that basically defined the original version. And let’s face it: it’s just a clunky remix. Sorry, Scott.
So… we could say that a good version of “The Nude” just doesn’t exist online. We could.
Fortunately, the ever-wonderful last.fm has stepped in with its new offer of full-length previews: tens of thousands of tracks that you can listen to up to three times without paying a cent (this new promotion is responsible for a major surge in popularity for the site).
Guess what: the original tune is there, ready and waiting for new listeners, sounding as bright and shiny as ever.
