Hard work is… fun?
I’m typing an unexpectedly complicated document: a proposal for an independent study in writing program administration. Basically, I’ve got to write a syllabus complete with a schedule of readings and meetings. I also must give the graduate committee some kind of justification for why I need to take this as an independent study, and why I need to do it now.
At the moment, I’m figuring out readings. Kind of enjoyable flipping through the WPA books I’ve accumulated over the years. Elliott Gruner (UNH WPA) has given me some books that I’ll include, and I’ve got a few ideas of my own. But it’s kinda hard to know which books are important to read in a field of study I haven’t learned much about yet. Time to email some of the ol’ advisors, methinks…
