Boo

Beaver State Radio DJ Anna is off this week. She asked me to compile a Halloween show, something she could “carve pumpkins to.” I’m not quite sure how to do that — I don’t really own the Halloween radio staples such as “Monster Mash” — but I did my best to put something together. There are some traditional goth favorites (Bauhaus, Cranes, Joy Division), a little metal, and some of the pop/rock I’ve always found a little spooky or dark (Tricky, for example). Out of the 97 tracks, the spookiest is definitely Scott Walker’s “The Escape.” Overall, it’s generally non-peppy stuff, but there’s still plenty of variety.

The seven-hour playlist will run continuously from now until the end of Halloween.

Just to throw Anna off somewhere in the middle of her carving, I included this old favorite right in the middle of the darkness and gloom. I’m pretty funny sometimes.
