I’ve been co-writing a web article about the “shoegazer” movement of the early 1990s, prompted by the much-celebrated reunion of UK legends The Jesus and Mary Chain. While doing research, I stumbled across the news that The Verve is also getting back together and touring.
What a treat! Two great bands, both of which vowed they’d never get back together, are finally burying their respective hatchets and giving it another shot. I doubt they’ll put out any more great albums, but they might be good for another US tour or two. JAMC is out of The Verve’s league, though, so they probably won’t tour together.
Now all I need is for My Bloody Valentine to reunite, and I’ll be happy. Sigh. Not bloody likely!

JMC reunion is most excellent news. It’s been awhile since I’ve been to a concert, but maybe they’ll do a good CD. I have Honey’s Dead and love it.

I never go to shows anymore, but I’d go see JAMC if they came within 50 or so miles.

I can’t wait until they tour. Even if they’re old and stale, I’ll love it.
