These particular beats are, by most reliable indicators, fresh out of the oven

The Paradise Rock Club in Boston is one of the best concert venues ever. It’s small yet roomy, the sound and lighting are great, the temperature is usually comfortable, it’s easy to get a beer, and surprisingly big bands play there. Needless to say, I couldn’t resist when I saw that rapper Del Tha Funkee Homosapien was scheduled there for October 20. Sign me up!

Thanks to the fact that Oregon isn’t exactly a hotbed for phat beats, this will be my first ever hip-hop show (Del isn’t totally hip-hop anymore, though: he’s been moving more toward P-Funk-style instrumentals). Now, I’m a long way from Whitey with the pocket protector and khakis, but I might not totally fit in. I figured I might bob my head a little. But if the crowd starts getting into the music, I’m not sure what I would do. I suffer from acute boogiephobia.

Any advice?

Don’t worry. You’ll be in the middle of a bunch of Bostonians.

I noticed the link was to a Myspace page. Does that imply that you’re on Myspace?

  3. Mike G:

Nope. I don’t have anything against Myspace… I’m just not sure what I would do there.
