OMG HAWT

New England news sources are flipping out over Wednesday, which promises to be hot and humid. Even the NOAA is jumping on the bandwagon, pulling out a rarely-used graphic. A typical weather graphic looks like this:

Wednesday’s graphic looks like this:

Don’t worry about the amount of cloud cover, the chance of precipitation, etc. Just be aware that it’s going to be bloody HOT.

Similar graphics adorn TV news reports: a sun wearing sunglasses, a sweating sun underneath a beach umbrella, and (my favorite) a sun breathing fire like a dragon.

I have a feeling that Wednesday’s heat, while formidable, will fail to live up to the hype.

EDIT: Newmarket peaked at 102. But the humidity was pretty low… actually ended up a lot nicer than some of our other hot summer days this year.
